Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino
Ever get home at 4 in the morning, really, really hungry, but way too lazy to make a proper meal – and so resorted to eating all the junk food you could get your hands on? Well this pasta can end that problem. It’s made with only those three ingredients that are right in the name (garlic, olive oil, and hot pepper), all of which you should always have in your kitchen. It only takes the time it takes to boil the water and cook the pasta, and it tastes great.
Ingredients (serves 1)
- 200g spaghetti
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 hot pepper
- 5 tablespoons olive oil
- fresh parsley (optional)
- capers (optional)
- salt
Preparation (20 minutes)
Fill a pot with water, add a handful of salt, and put it on high heat to boil. In the meantime, pour the olive oil onto a pan on medium high heat. Chop the garlic and hot pepper very small, and add to the pan. After about 10 minutes, the water should be boiling; add the pasta and mix every 2 minutes or so. Add the capers too the pan. After about 5 minutes, add the parsley. After the pasta has been cooking for about 8 minutes, start tasting it to check when it is ready. When it is, strain it, and add it to the pan. Mix it around while cooking it on the pan for about a minute, then toss it back in the pot, and serve right away.
Three ingredients…I can handle that! This looks and sounds yummy!
